Emerging Talent: Toni-Anne Davis

Can you share a pivotal moment or experience that led you to pursue a career in the Comms industry?

I was working on an event for graduates interested in working in the creative industries. The discovery of communications led me to research how I could start my career. I found that many elements I enjoyed about my role were incorporated into communications. The rest, as they say, was history.

Navigating the early stages of any career comes with its set of challenges. Can you tell us about a significant obstacle you've overcome and what it taught you about yourself and your profession?

My ultimate challenge has been time management. Overcoming it involved simply allowing time for planning, leaving room for flexibility, and prioritising tasks. My team has been extremely helpful in aiding my improvement.

Looking ahead, where do you see yourself in the next five years within the industry? Are there any particular goals or impact you aim to achieve?

In the next five years, I aim to lead and execute a globally recognized communications campaign. I'm particularly drawn to projects that make a significant impact for underrepresented areas of the black community, including black LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, and disabled individuals.

Reflecting on your work so far, which campaign or project holds a special place for you as your favorite, and why?

I'd say Black History Month 2023. Despite the stress, witnessing the positive responses to my contributions was incredibly inspiring. It helped me recognize the value I can bring and pushed me to achieve more.
